WATER-BASED PRINTING INKS for screen printing NEWTEX AF
Newtex AF water-based inks for textile screen printing are covering and suitable for manual or machine screen printing. With these inks, you can print on various materials such as cotton, some cotton blends, paper, fleece, wool, etc.
Grafco has upgraded and further improved the existing line of Newtex-One water-based screen printing inks and named them Newtex AF.
Water-based inks for direct screen printing on textiles Newtex AF are very elastic and extremely covering. Before printing, the already pigmented ink needs to be mixed with a catalyst. For complete polymerization, it is recommended to dry the printed ink on the textile in a drying tunnel at a lower temperature, which is much more economical. Although drying tunnels are not found in every print shop, we are confident that an industrial dryer or conventional hairdryer can be used to achieve adequate polymerization – fixing the printed water-based ink on the textile (t-shirt).
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF NEWTEX AF WATER-BASED INKS:
Final result of the printed color on the t-shirt: semi-matte appearance, pleasant soft touch, the color is not sticky.
Specific properties: excellent coverage on dark materials. The water-based textile ink gives excellent results in multi-color printing with intermediate drying (even if you only use a hairdryer). Excellent wash resistance is achieved if you add a catalyst. Soft touch and good final elasticity of the print.
Complete polymerization: with the added catalyst to the color, this product achieves excellent wash resistance within 3 to 4 days at approximately 25°C.
Recommended catalysts: catalyst NEWTEX CATALYST 98 has a faster fixation rate under the same drying conditions compared to the catalyst CROSSLINKER Z107, which allows for easier printing, better behavior on the screen during printing, and after 24 hours it breaks down in the color (the color is reusable).
Color dilution: using water is not recommended. To reduce viscosity, we recommend NOVALAC RETARDER 2-4% or NEWTEX RETARDER GL 5-7% (higher workplace temperatures).
Retarders for water-based inks: due to extreme conditions (heat) in the workplace, NEWTEX RETARDER GEL 308 is recommended from 5 to 8% together with continuous humidification.
Recommended mesh for screen printing: from 32.70 to 71.48 threads/cm
Recommended emulsion for screen coating: Screencoat WHD with added hardener (diazo)
Recommended squeegee for printing: square profile rubber with a hardness of 70 sh
WARNINGS:
Always test adhesion on a sample piece before series printing. Read and follow the safety instructions!
